I'm sure the dual bolt pattern wheels have been designed and engineering calcs have been made to ensure they won't fall apart. ( I wonder if they have that german TUV approval though)

I would bet that the wheels are actually heavier than a single bolt patern wheel as they have to beef up parts of the hub to account for the extra wheels.

The multiple fitments allow for cheaper wheels and less models for tire shops to stock.

I'm still against it, but I can see why they do it
