Most Canadian traffic law is interchangable with American traffic law. And the last time I checked, speeding and drunk driving were both illegal in Canada, eh?

Actually no, it isn't. A greater number of people die in alcohol related traffic accidents on NYE then on a typical weekend night. Police forces are usually more dilligent in weeding drunks off the road on major holiday nights.
