Sorry, but that is a load of

. Washing your car does not fade clear coat if you have a good sealant or wax on it. The only harm in washing is that if done wrong you could develop swirl marks in your clear coat over time, but clear coat does not dull just by washing unless you never put wax or sealant on it, and I don't think any one on this forum is that ignorant.
If anything you should be washing your car more often then less. If brake dust is left on wheels for over 2-3 weeks it can bake it's self into the clear coat on your wheel's finish and leave black residue that is impossible to get out, not to mention the harsh contaminates from mother nature such as, bird poo, sap, and water that can eat their way through your finish.
