My daughter makes strong six-figures and is able to save a little, but not much beyond her 401k, which isn't maxed out. Her car is 14-years old and she gets free lunches and free rides to work, four out of five days. She's in her mid-twenties and single, so life style is high on her list, along with career opportunity in her field, so it's hard to say that the decisions aren't correct. Her rent is outrageous, but to buy her little 700-square foot unit is over $700,000! She is smack in the middle of the city, so she's paying for that.
