In what universe would this dealer think it's totally acceptable to hold a car hostage like that? They felt it was ok to hold it so others can view the car and not offer any compensation for basically renting the car? At least with new home builders that build a model home and sell it to a new owner, the home builder pays rent on however long they use it as a model home and promises to ensure any wear and tear is addressed before the new owner takes delivery.
