yes as expected mate.. i even told before quali started as well in previous pages..
you think Red Bull worked crazily hard and gained a second between seasons in 3-4 months under only one regulation change? that d be naive..
supposedly protective for Merc' FIA made the move with floor against low-rake cars and the fastest one was Mercs.. high-rake cars depends less for creating low pressure since the whole car acts like a reversed wing..
the most improved part Red Bull did is the engine.. so Honda did it..
pole times are almost 1 second slower this year on each track and it ll be like that.. so Red Bull havent got faster, Merc' got slower.. be my guest and check the times yourself.. stopwatch never lies.. so dont even debate on that if you want to stick to reality..
Honda improved quite nicely.. even the engine sounds differently this season.. applause to Honda for their work.. but im expecting a better race pace from Merc's tomorrow i hope it ll be like that..
cheers mate..

The gain of RB on MERC is significant.
In Baku HAM was unable to pass PER on that long straight despite DRS.
Having DAS, adjusting to 0deg toe on the straigt gives less tyre friction on top speed and adjusting to more negative toe in the corners give more grip.
I think missing both adjustments played a role in that HAM couldn't overtake PER time after time on the long straights despite having DRS every time.
And of course there have been changes, but the chassis have been largely carried over. I think this seasons change saw the least changes therefore, so it's the more strange that the gap between MERC and RB has been so changed.

DAS never been used for higher straight line speed.. by the way race cars dont have 0 toe on front.. they almost every time adjusted to toe out on front..
