I'm glad I picked up a 2021 M40i vice the 2022 M40i for a couple of reasons, but one of them being the additional M badges and M mirrors. BMW is free to badge their cars however they want, and I guess with them putting them on it doesn't really qualify as fake badging, but I'd personally feel weird with the extra M badges. I guess that's weird in and of itself but there it is. My M40i has no additional badging on top of the M40i on the back.
