Now they are saying they aren't sure if there was officially a race start or not. That matters because if they don't restart the race, no points will be granted.
But if the race did officially start under the safety car then for race classification the race does count with 50% points awarded to the drivers.
It sounds like the time countdown already started. But the count down doesn't start unless the race has already started. So it's kinda odd that there is no clarity on if the race has officially started.
My opinion, is until the rolling start happens, or the standing start lights out. The race hasn't officially started, but I don't know the rules on rolling race starts under a safety car.

This was settled by Masi which causes a perplexing situation. They are on lap 39 now, per Masi. Checo has completed exactly Zero of those laps. As I stated in an earlier post, will he be allowed to un-lap himself or will he simply be credited for those laps?
It's a mess and RBR is getting preference from the FIA.
