Any new appliance is made like crap and the manufacturer cuts corners. I don't care if it's Viking or Miele or whoever.
It's not the brands' fault either. There's a good reason why appliances that are 20+ years old are made infinitely better and hardly need replacing. I had a stacker setup for washer / dryer that lasted 15+ years (and was 20 years old when I inherited them) before they went out
