Starting at 8th, I think a dry race would benefit Max more.

But Max' lead in the WDC is so big, that there is no real pressure to win.

Better to finish a bit lower than aim for win and crash.

In this case and scenario I agree that starting from 8th no rain would be more beneficial to Max. The track is just too Monaco like to have any advantage if the track is wet.
