Thanks everyone! I'm doing well...just tired and a bit weak. I start back in the gym with a trainer on Wednesday. I have my daughter to thank for saving me. I had a rough and bust two weeks prior to the stroke. On the day of I had meetings in 2 cities. I was on my way to a meeting in my city when my daughter called to let me know the heat killed her battery (Thanks Louisiana.) I cancelled my meeting, drove 45 mins to deal with car, then took her to my house to pick up the SUV. Afterwards, I went to Ruth's Chris for a quick early dinner and a martini. I arrived at home, spoke to my sister then got off the phone quickly because I was having a bit of difficulty catching my breath while speaking which is normal with my allergies being so bad. I decided to go lay in the bed for a few minutes. As I was walking down the hall t get to my bedroom, I stumbled to the left and fell against the wall but stayed afoot. I got to my bed and got in but immediately fell out to the left onto the ground. At this point, Ihad no control over the left aide of my body but I had my phone. I got my phone out and called my daughter...luckily, she put me on hold and called 911 because I was slurring badly. Rescue arrived about 3-4 mins later and my neighbor who is a fire chief was guiding things. I was cogent enough to tell them how to enter the home without damaging the house. I had just gotten out of my suit when it all occurred. They hauled me out in my skivvies, which was humiliating and lucky as the physician told me they would have just cut off the Armani suit I wore that day. Philistines!!!!!
My cognition was fine. When they asked me to do some math, after I completed their problems, I recited the Prime Numbers to the high three digits when the stopped me.
I began getting feeling on my left side and motion in my left leg 2 days later. My left arm started 2 days after that after that. My fingers began on day 7. I have fine motor control back but not close to the level of strength prior to this incident.
I can shower and dress myself which, unfortunately means the 2 gorgeous Oc Therapist no longer have to supervise me.

I just got back from my final PT session and walked without the cane much of the way back ton my room.
And just so you all know
I held up the honor of our little community by being THAT patient. One evening I took a tumble trying to adjust the bed which they have to report. When my therapist found out, she asked what happened,
I said I was just following instructions. She was WTF are yoy talking about? I said what season are we currently in? She said Fall. I said, exactly!! I got hit in the head by several people thereafter. I
also refuse to use the wheelchair and they know not to even bring that ghoulish nightmare for me to sit in.
I came here in my skivvies and I'm walking out in a custom made suit to celebrate my good fortune, mercy from God, love from my family and friends...near and far and you jokers!!
I just got certified as safe to go home so they made the announcement and asked me to share my thoughts. I thanked all my therapists and told them I'd like to share 2 poems that signify my life philosophy. I recited Invictus as my first which got them prepared for something high-minded, inspirational and esoteric.
I then hit them with Humpty-Dumpty. They asked me to leave, thereafter.
Look after your health, slow down, enjoy your family and friends and think about what's really important.
And I'm keeping ALL my stuff. Better luck next time...I'm too ornery for a stroke to take me out!!!
