How much do you have now? I run 64GB and have never been able to use it, and I do music studio with lots of plugins at 96khz, photoshop, video editing, gaming, astrophotography image integration, the latter uses the most, I hit around 45GB ram usage when processing data…. But that's it. With windows taking another 10GB, still leaves lots of room without ever swapping to SDD.
My thought is you might get more bang out of really fast 64GB and leave the other two slots open? Unless you know you would use 128GB.

Yeah I agree 128gb is probably overkill but I do use my computer for work sometimes and running building simulations in the background while programs like Revit, Excel with macros, and IES are also being used can push close to 64gigs. Ive only done that a handful of times though.
I'm mostly doing it because I can at this point. I do a lot of photography and astrophotography too, stacking photos can be taxing when running in the background, but as you've said it usually doesnt come close to 64gigs. I'd like to get more into video and 4K needs a lot of ram from what I've been reading. Has that been your experience with video?
