Cool story - a friend of mine is the Director of the support staff at McMurdo Station in the Antarctic.
Last year she went and spent 4 months on station...she quickly learned that everyone was very unhappy with the bandwidth and internet service.
So, she installed Starlink and it was a huge upgrade. It took months to get the equipment since it had to arrive via cargo ship and it's not like that is a heavily travelled route, but then it was fairly simple to install and get up running.
And for a side story: she said that McMurdo is the frequent target of hackers....why? Because apparently there are a lot of nutjobs who believe that the government is covering up the existence of aliens beneath the ice there. Spoiler alert: there are no aliens there.
