I had Modesta on two of my F80s. I would never get another Modesta coating. Perhaps they were head and shoulders better than other coatings back in 2015, but as someone else mentioned, quite a bit has changed since then. I'm a believer in GTechniq. I have two cars (718 Cayman GT4 and FL5 Civic Type R) coated with CSL + EXOv4 + C2V3 and it's just as good or better than Modesta for 25% of the cost. In 2024 no one should be paying thousands for a ceramic coating.
I've heard good things about Feynlab but have no first hand experience with it. I heard the self-healing properties are legit and not a gimmick, but again, no firsthand experience. I suggest asking the detailer to allow you to see a couple of cars as he completed them. Also ask him to connect you with a couple clients who have had the coating on for a couple years. A quick chat with them and perhaps seeing their cars in person should give you all the intel you need to make a decision.
