That's how PPF is supposed to be applied: it should be cut around sharp corners instead of attempting to wrap it in. Otherwise, it will bunch up and eventually lift back up. Think of it like using gift wrap on the corners of a box — there's extra material that needs to be folded over. The same principle applies to PPF, but keep in mind that it's much thicker material that's harder to manipulate.
