It sounds like this current plan is to buy new subs, which hopefully will avoid some of the past problems. Of course, it will still be possible to reduce the cost of the procurement too much and thereby buy a batch of under-performing submarines.
If only Canada would jump into AUKUS with both feet and buy perhaps half a dozen nuclear boats...
