The 4C driver racing it clearly unprepared for the first time ever with the express attitude "I wanted to show off a little", was a red flag. The steering wheel hand positioning of the 4C driver was also a red flag (didn't know the importance of the 9 and 3 o'clock positioning). Almost losing control at Kleines Karussell (Schwalbenschwanz) was a humbling warning he failed to heed.
Of course easy for all of us to point this out from our comfortable seats. We all can crash. But overconfidence ("I wanted to show off a little") on a treacherous race track was a big part of the equation here.

Overconfidence for first timers on the Ring usually comes after they 'get away with something' like you mentioned on the Kleines Karussell and feeling ''if I got away with that then I can get away with anything.'' He then pushed the car to the limit and beyond which he couldn't retrieve hence the special Alfa would likely need a new carbon chassis on top of the panel damage possibly rendering it totalled.
