In the late 1980's I worked nights and was on the 25th floor of a Chicago high-rise with a desk facing to the east, directly out the windows at Lake Michigan. For about 4 years, I saw nothing but spectacular sunrises every day. The most vivid purples and oranges you could imagine.
Lightening storms were pretty spectacular too.
