Max passed Piastri in arguably the fastest car on the grid like nothing happened.
He just flew by choosing a different racing line.
Like explained in that video.
That makes Max currently by far the best driver in the rain. He's in another league.
And even the most biased british reporters now seem to get that.

He showed as early as in 2016 what he could do in the rain, and he showed it now that he's even better at it, even with the pressure of the WDC hanging in the balance.

The difference between the alpines and Max is that once he passed OCO, he drove away from him and the rest of the field steadily at around 1s per lap every lap.
No other driver on the grid came even close to his pace. The telemetry stands for itself. Just look at that if you don't believe me. It is thàt simple....

Max had easliy enough pace to get a free pitstop compared to those who made a pitstop outside of the red flag. The telemetry doesn't lie.
