My daily commute is >100miles. I used to drive my Z4MC for half of the week (and another half 4Runner) to work for few years. But always felt bad putting so many miles on either of them. And even more I felt sick at gas stations filling them up twice a week
Now got Honda CR-Z with manual and can't be more happy
It's a surprisingly fun to drive little car and (if I'm in the mood) it can give me up to 45mpg
And I got it with 45kmiles just for $8k.
