I do put my cars in "storage" to get an insurance discount when I'm not driving them though. That works nicely.
USAA member for 25y. It's definitely not the same as it was, but everything else I've checked out is worse.

For me State Farm was about $300 better than USAA. It’s exceedingly disappointing, because I well remember when I used to occasionally call other insurance companies to compare rates and the moment I said I had USAA the response was, we won’t be able to beat them. This was the years before they decided to go “mainstream”. I was letting USAA monitor my driving before I left, so letting State Farm do it and then NOBLR is a non-issue for me. Especially when it’s getting me basically $800/year premiums! Especially in today’s market. Not only had USAA’s auto insurance become uncompetitive their homeowners had, too. I have my homeowners with State Farm still for at least $200/year less than USAA. I thought when I switched to NOBLR USAA might make their homeowners competitive again, but it didn’t. In my view USAA is just a shell of what they used to be. It’s an absolute shame!!
I only have one car, so storage is not an option.
