BMW X5: G65 - View Single Post - Drive from Vegas -> Yosemite mid April; which route?

Hi, i have 2 questions: we are driving from Vegas to Yosemite in mid April. I have hired a "large SUV".

Do we go via California and stay at Yosemite West (a few airbnbs there), or go via Tioga Rd (is this the death valley? will it be snowed and closed?)

And can you do the drive in one day or should we stop overnight (where)?
