Logic prevailed and they agreed to take the car over to a local BMW dealer down the street. Also of interest is that some BMW dealers are no longer doing PPI's. They call it something like a 'Road Ready' inspection. I dont care what they call it, as long as they put it on a lift and inspect for leaks around turbos etc.
