Many will say: "Yeah, but Antonelli got parachuted as rookie straightaway in a mighty Mercedes car, the real deal - no Haas car as F1 entry. No other modern day rookie driver got a very competitive car at his disposal to shine his colors from the get-go."
But then again, Toto Wolff considered him worthy of getting the seat and, boy, does he deliver. Mastering as an 18 year young kid to drive a sophisticated fully-fledged Mercedes F1 car, filling massive Hamilton shoes, processing savage neck-straining G forces, brutal deceleration and acceleration, combined with the stress of the paddock and the whole world watching every single move, is a truly outstanding achievement. The kid has outperformed the whole field on a track he wasn't familiar with in real life, with only 1 Free Practice under the belt.
New spice in the mix - this is great for F1. 'Interesting season' instead of 'silly season'.
Via personal reliable first hand info originating from the Monaco whereabouts (no press - no influencers), I was told that, also in real life, Kimi is a humble kid, the kid next door.
