It’s been five years, but Max Verstappen has never stopped believing that the crash which wrecked his car and forced a DNF while running P2 at the 2020 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix was more than just a racing incident. Now, Red Bull and Verstappen are officially calling for the case to be reopened, citing unresolved questions surrounding the circumstances of the crash. At the heart of their suspicion? The man who benefited most after Max lost control and slammed into the barriers at the Villeneuve corner — none other than Lewis Hamilton. Buckle up — the past is coming back with a vengeance.

I remember the situation when carbon fibre debris may have been deposited in front of those track workers on the track, yet no warning flag was shown before Max arrived there. I think I wrote at the time those workers should have been questioned into what if anything was seen by them on the track before Max arrived, something was missing.
