That is badass. Fitness and health are critical!! Keep up the good work.
June 1, 2023 I was 62, 5,9" and weighed 250. Pre-diabetic and on blood pressure meds. I was miserable. That day I changed my life. I joined a group fitness HIIT studio. We rowed, lifted and treadmilled. In a year I was down to 180, with 20% BF and muscle mass way up. Of course, I changed by diet to healthy, focusing on macros.
In the summer of 24 I started training for a Spartan at 63 years of age. A coach took me under her wing and we would run a 5k every Sunday morning, then go straight into a one hour workout. In October I ran my first ever Spartan Sprint (5k), and it was not hard. She was training for a triathlon, so we added cycling to our weekly adventures.
This year I ran a half marathon and a 6K Spartan Super. I have a triathlon scheduled for October and a Hyrox race scheduled for November.
I strength train 4 days per week, take at least 2 group HIIT/MetCon classes, cycle and run.
I say all this to show that anyone can do this. Trust me, if I did you can!
