That's a great idea.
For me, each of my kids moved back home rent free after college for a year or two. The deal was they had to get a job, max their 401k plans, and save money to buy a house. No buying shiny objects (new cars, etc.) Each of the them agreed to those terms. Now, they both have good jobs, great houses, maxing their 401k plans. They thank me once in awhile for being a bit tough on them. I was lucky to get such a good outcome.
