It's been a couple of months since my initial post and after trying a few different options I have a couple of fairly good alternatives.

The most comfortable by far is the New Balance Fresh Foam X More v5. The only real drawback to it is the toe box width. This area is so wide that it makes it uncomfortable, dare I say unsafe for me to drive my G42 as I can catch my foot on the brake pedal when lifting off the accelerator. I've made the decision that I will not drive the BMW when wearing these (they are fine in the Pilot). I'll add that I bought a second pair that are wide vs extra wide and they are still a bit too wide in the toe box.

The next, which is more of an equivalent to the 1080 v13 is the ASICS Gel Nimbus 27. This shoe is as cushioned as the v13, if not slightly more. The main negative is that these run narrow and their X-Wide feels narrower than a New Balance regular wide, let alone the 4E that I prefer. But they are still a better alternative than the 1080 v14.
