That $100 million: does that relate to what Red Bull pumps into sponsoring initiatives that Verstappen can no longer count on if he leaves RBR ? If affirmative, that will be part of the equation too. Also, if he stays, $65 million pay for the next 3 seasons guaranteed.
Freedom comes at a price. Divorce: apart from the partner, you could also lose (fringe) benefits you liked.
If Mercedes offers him a competitive package: RBR could propose to update his contract with more benefits to avoid losing him.
