This leads to more complexity, thereby potentially decreasing reliability & more expensive to repair, forget about DIY!
As battery costs continue dropping, EVs might get cheaper & might sell more as they could be considered relatively less complex compared to ICE engines which would keep getting more complex in response to stricter emission regulations!

It is absolutely certain, that these will be hybridized. The current G Series ICE cars are officially the last pure ICE models to be released. Everything that comes from now on (aside from existing model variations like a M2 CS) will have some form of hybrid tech.
Most of them will be mild hybrid though, not like the heavyweight champion G9x.
G84 M3 will be S58 with mild hybrid powertrain.
