Not a BMW car, but a BMW motorcycle. I didn't think to ask if a personal check would be ok as my down payment with the rest being financed with BMW Financial. They wanted a cashier's check but the sales guy went to the owner of the dealership that ok'd my personal check because I had purchased a motorcycle from them before.
