I pretty much only wear Panerai's. For some reason people who like the brand, yet don't own one yet, are drawn to the 90 as "the one" to have. I was the same way, but as I got more and more into the brand it actually became my least favorite. The dial is a bit busy and the PR indicator throws everything off balance. I would recommend starting out with a historic like one of the logo's or if you like the PR try to get your hands on the new 312 which has an in house movement and date function.

If you spend a good bit of time on the water I would strongly check out the Rolex Deepsea as well. Best watch Rolex has made in years imo.
