Why isn't she doing it part time and get her employer to cover a portion or all of the tuition? And if she's going after her Ph.D, that means that she already has a Masters...should put that to work.
My step dad did his Ph.D or rather J.D., part time and finished in about 4 years.
~25 is WAY too early for a Ph.D. I'm 23 now and half of the people in my graduate courses for my Masters are in their late 20s to 40s.
It's very rare that someone get a BA/BS, Masters, Ph.D, without stopping to work. Kinda senseless too IMO..after all that, you have no real life experience.
