I have a hp LJ and it's cartridge has lasted me 3 1/2 years so far and i print a lot of crap for my classes. Although it's a none color one but one time it started to fade while printing, so i just took out the cartridge shook it up for a min and its been going strong for another year so far best printer I've ever owned
