The Dell 24" 2408WFP was a pretty good 16:10 monitor. I'm using one at work. It also just recently went out of production for the new U2410 I believe. So you might be able to get a deal on one.

Also, NEC had a refurbished monitor sale going on not too long ago. It may still be going on. Here is a link.

The NEC LCD2490WUXI2 is probably one of the best monitors around, but new they cost near $1000. I remember seeing one on that refurb page for like $250.

*Edit: Just checked the refurb page again, the LCD2490WUXI2 is no longer listed. Shame.
