What about the gorillapod? I just picked up a gorillapod (just for specialized occasions, including holding a speedlight.) Too bad you posted it up about a month too late!

I just have so many bags, this one is a bit too small for my 70-200 (it really isn't but I just don't like putting it in there cuz it's tight)
the gorilla pod was ok when i use my 50mm but my other lenses are too heavy for it, plus I barely use a tripod as it is
