State trooper......Wish they all had this guys common sense
So there I am, Drove my 335i up to MA from FL, what a drive, AND the fuel consumption was Amazing, i filled the tank 3 times, not bad for 1600 miles drive, well, after i got to Boston, couple friends of mine wanted to go to "Foxwoods" Casino, had a great night, I went with $200 came out with $120, not bad, up and down the whole night. so anyways, on the way back home @6:20AM the Freeway was empty, dead for miles w' the sun about to rise , a nice looking day @ 13 degrees. Then some desire of speed came over me and i declared my intentions, we all wore our seat belts and watched as the Tachometer Revolutions went high and the MPH's went by,and there at around 130 MPH I spot a "Dark Blue Vehicle" slowly making its way from the median onto the freeway, we blast by it and even know the car inside was nice and warm we all felt dead cold and.....Scared if i may say, I know i was, It was a State Trooper. I can not afford any speeding tickets trying to be a professional pilot, no airline is willing to hire any pilots w' even a warning for their last 5 years on their driving record. I glance at my rear view mirror and weird enough no Sirens / No lights however I Decided to slow down and pulled over Safely.....2~3 minutes went by and the State trooper arrived, pulled behind me, still no lights, got out of his car wearing a heavy blue winter jacket, came up to my window and kindly enough said "Boy oh boy aren't you trying to get home ah?" I told him non of us were drunk and we had slept the afternoon before so there was no fatigue or alcohol a possibility to contribute in a possible accident, and the road being empty was,,,,,,,well,,,,Tempting.......he took my license and said "Hold your horses i will be right back"........few minutes went by he came back and said...."Well you have never being issued a ticket since you first got your license back in 1999 therefore i trust your are responsible and this sort of thing would not be repeated, am i right"? I said yes sir....he said have a good day and left. No ticket/No Warning, Just few Common sense words...!we however remained at the same spot for another 30 minutes discussing what had just happened and Listen to my friends "Ticket Stories"
Well, lesson learned.....!
As for the cop.....God Bless him.
