I have DirecTV with an HD DVR unit and I am very pleased with it so far. I did try to talk to my cable company, but after three different calls with three different people, the last quite ignorant, I got fed up and went to satellite.
The picture is nice, but I can still see compression artifacts. Some HD channels, like Discovery have pretty nice HD content, but other channels suffer from macroblocking during action scenes.
But hey, now I can watch House in HD on a night I don't work late!
