Bimmerpost App gone from Google Play Store
I was having issues in app with a couple things like accessing subscribed to threads and liking other's posts and went to uninstall and reinstall the app. Turns out it's no longer in the Google Play Store for me. Anyone else having this issue?

I use the site in my browser, works fine.
If you have the samsung internet browser it has a really nice magnify buttons feature that let's you use the small ui easily. I use chrome but I realize not everyone has good enough eyes to read the small text.

The app on iOS has been broken since yesterday. Which is why the traffic on the site has been down. A lot of people don’t seem to want to bother with the mobile page.

Our app was quite heavily used by android over the years. Unfortunately Google made some policy changes that are impossible for me as a solo app developer to meet. I don't blame them since I understand why they made those changes, especially as I'm guessing there are some many junk AI generated apps probably flooding them now.
Regardless we are where we are and it was removed from the app store. I'm hoping in the future there is another policy change to the old way. Maybe not. Innthe mean time a few have suggested side loading, which I'm still exploring right now. Basically I can host the app with a link here which you would install manually. The app is actually still being updated so I have a newer android version running right now. I just want to make sure it's all done safe and securely since I question how many ppl will know how to install an app directly from a link from our site. To be seen. Otherwise newest version of the app is ready to go today..

Sideload works for me... hopefully Google won't start restricting that option in Android.

That's not cool.
I mostly used the Android App to read the forum, it is not as fast and convenient using the mobile site on the smart phone. I hope they can set it up again soon. |
