Afternoon all,

I’ve found my coolant leak to be coming from the oil filter housing which I have ordered and will be replacing. It’s dripping out quite substantially, could this leak be the cause of vehicle overheating?

Yes, because coolant loop is pressurized to eliminate boiling at hotspots like cylinder head and cylinder coolant jacket. With substantial leak, pressure is no longer maintained and coolant can start boiling and overheating.
