'24 X1 28i cames with 225/55/18 all-season tires. can I use 235/50/18 summer tires?
'24 X1 28i cames with 225/55/18 102H all-season tires. there are basically no good summer tire options for that size here in the US. also don't want to buy new wheels
is it okay to replace them with 235/50/18 101Y summer tires?(such as the Michelin Pilost Sport 4S) or will that trigger fault codes... or mess up the xDrive or even ABS/DSC system? according to online tire size calculator/comparison tools, the difference will be less than 1mph at 60mph |

We run 225/45/R18 Michelin Pilots on our X1 buggy.
Running 235/50/R18 will not be an issue. You lose a bit of sidewall and tire is fatter. As long as all four shoes are the same yer good. Last edited by BeEmVe; 04-09-2025 at 09:32 AM.. Reason: Original post edited as I was wrong on our tire size |

I need to correct myself our shoes are 225/45/R18. I have edited my post above.
Except the Pilot does not come in that size. Just a 245/45/R18 Last edited by BeEmVe; 04-08-2025 at 08:46 PM.. |

Yep 7.5" is too narrow to be putting a 245 on. Yes I'd go with a 235/50/18. It's only a 1.4% change in circumference (well under the recommended max of 3%) and there seems to be a decent selection on Tire Rack.
