Nano, Classic, touch? What are your impressions?

I just got the new Nano and I think its great..... Just wondering who else has made the plunge on the new iPod line

I'm done wasting my money on ipods now, because i know there going to come out with a new one next week, and then the following week and so on and so on

Classic I have had all of them so far. I was an apple fan boy long before bmw!

...I already have an iphone so no need for a touch, once they stick a hard drive in the touch, then they will get some more of my cash! New interface for the 6th gen is great! Cover flow on a non touch is weird, but not bad! I also really appreciate the 160GB, and FULL METAL body! No plastic face anymore! I would have liked apple to lose the mirror finish on the back (add a rough metal look, like the back of the iphone), but I guess they were not going to change something that drastic! But yea..I love my classic nothing revolutionary, but if you already have an iphone (like me) No need for the touch (which is less capable then the iphone) 16GB max is ridiculous for the ipod people would be buying for the best video.

I feel the same way.
I'm happy with my 8gig Black Nano.
Those new nano videos look pretty lame.

My friend says the new Nanos look like ch*des lol. So far I have had the first two generations of Nanos (first one crashed). I'm not gonna buy from Apple for a long time...unless my new(ish) Nano breaks down...which won't surprise me.

I had the first iPod and actually used it a lot. Then I got the iPod mini when it came out and used it. Then I got the next iPod and kind of used it. Then got an iPod video and rarely used it (by rarely, I mean I could count the times I watched a video on it on my fingers). In the last 2 years since i've bought it, I stopped using my powerbook, stopped using my imac, got a dell dimension xps700, a sony vaio sz240, and carry around a sony ericsson w580i and an htc tytn.

I have proudly converted AWAY from apple. And i'm NEVER going back!

I agree. But I doubt many people will buy the new ipods they have just come out with.
They look terrible.
But who knows, they are pretty cheap.

No...that may be true for the masses, but I personally have never owned a PC, and remember my first computer was a Classic SE in the late 80's. If you want a great story get the made for TV movie Pirates of silicon valley.

It is a great story about the development of Steve and Bill.

I may be one of the "crazy ones", but apple throughout my childhood was more then a computer company. I connected with the company, and I knew that one day I would be a key player in the future of Apple. If you look at the mission statement, core goals, and steve's "Heres to the crazy ones", it is easy to understand why people get drawn to the culture of apple. While I do love the developments apple has made with the ipod and am happy to see Apples success. Apple has lost some of what I used to love about it. While I love my iphone, their decision to delay their operating system for the iphone is not one of their best choices in my mind, (fiscally i understand). I could type all night about apple. But no reason to, since I am not preaching to the right audience.

Anyway, any recommendations would be appreciated. I wonder how much space a converted DVD takes up?

My daughter just bought a new iPod 80GB classic and loves it. I used DVD Fab Converter Platinum (not the free version) to convert a DVD for it. The size wound up to be ~ 750 MB, in one file. I did find a free converter on the 'net, and it wound up to be ~ 250 MB, in five files.

If you have a Mac, Handbrake Light to rip it full quality and then iSquint to convert to an iPod/iPhone capable format.

The new Nanos look horrible in pictures, but if you see it in the store I can almost guarantee you'll want one.
