On-going remote service/connect drive service interruptions since mid-May
Hello Bimmerpost fellows in USA, need your help.
I am cross-referencing a thread from G05 forum where a dozen of us have experienced on-going disruptions of free basic remote services via mybmw app (lock, unlock, check vehicle location, mileage and remaining milage range, etc.) and paid connect drive services on board (Spotify, weather, real time information, etc.) as well. When it happened: From mid-May and still on-going. Services on and off every a few days without vehicle hardware issues What iDrive impacted: Seems iDrive 7 only What models: On the original thread, mostly G05 and G20. But we suspect this is not a model specific issue, but more likely iDrive 7. What geo-location impacted: So far only on the west coast, mostly WA and CA, USA What bmwassist suggested but did not help consistently, if at all: On vehicle: Reset iDrive and TCU (70 seconds) and update mybmw app in idrive Deleting vehicle profile from myBMW account and add it back On smartphone: Uninstall and reinstall bmw app Visit dealer for diagnostics For us out of warranties dealers will charge $200-300 diagnostic fee. For a couple of guys with warranties, dealer refresh software did not solve the problem. If you happened to experience same issues during the same period and still struggle for a BMW solution, could you help to reply to my survey at post #203 on page 10.
