I loved Alf as a kid. I have all seasons on DVD. Yes, I'm a nerd. I can't help but think this reboot will suck, though.

No Problem. But are they as good as what you remeber? Knight Rider, WKRP, MacGyver and some other reboots had much to be desired.

I'd catch an episode or two...but feel I'd be let down.

KR reboot was trash. I have all seasons of the original Knight Rider & The A-Team on DVD that I still watch from time to time.

Magnum P.I. reboot too. Suspect it will also suck to those who watched the original but maybe those who think it is a brand new show will like it. Are there any reboots that worked out well to anyone who watched the original?

Would you consider Star Trek Next Gen a reboot or just a continuation? That was pretty good.

Not sure - haven't watched it. I watched some of the original Star Trek as a kid, but never really followed it super closely or got into SciFi all that much. Seems like there have been several shows with Star Trek as their inspiration. Not sure which one's had same characters vs. copycat idea as baseline with new characters. I think of a reboot as something with the same characters.

They got progressively worse as they kept evolving the sow.

So by your definition (which is reasonable) it's not a reboot, just another chapter in the story. In that case I'm stumped. Cant think of any reboot that stands up to the original.

Oh wait, just got one, sort of. Original Simpsons when it was on the Tracey Ullman show vs. The Simpsons on Fox. Sort of a re-boot, yeah?

Perhaps, sort of. They weren’t really a show, more like little shorts on her shoe weren’t they? Then they got turned into a show (which has gone on for a very long time).

The Lethal Weapon TV show is great, but I still wish they called it something else. Also, the guy that played Riggs won't be on the new season so curious to see if the chemistry is still there.

There are some good / ok movie to t.v. show and t.v. show to movie conversions. Mission Impossible is one. I think it's actually easier to convert like that than repeat the success of a t.v. show by rebooting it. (There are also plenty of very bad t.v. / movie conversions...)

Battlestar Galactica may be the best TV show ever. Especially if you like si-fi.
It absolutely rocks. Great writing, acting, special effects, and the musical score. All top notch.
