Surprised there wasn't a thread on this.

What do you guys think? I'm seeing a lot of people say the guy deserved it.

The killer has been identified but is still technically at large which is interesting...he apparently left NYC on a metro bus.

For me, vigilantism is never the answer. I feel sick for the family.

Murder is NEVER justified and all the folks on the internet who approve of this are nothing but a symptom of how sick our society has become. And I type this as the parent of a child with a chronic health condition that has led to almost 20 years of us fighting with various insurance companies over claims etc.

I don’t think your post is an issue but somehow we can’t have a reasonable discussion without some folks going overboard and that’s where the ban usually comes in.

I understand that people don’t like medical insurance and their plans, restrictions and coverage limits. I certainly have my own issues with that along with insurance interference with medical decisions (my docs’) and government interference as well for that matter. And big clinic “protocols” that tie my doc’s hands. It’s all a mess, IMO.

But the solution is not to murder anyone, ever. Assuming some of that was the motivation for the killing. But clearly it fuels the Internet reactions supporting the murder and even suggesting other health insurance CEOs be murdered.

This will reduce transparency, not improve it. CEOs will have security, and their names have all been stripped from company websites today (I read, haven’t verified).

Oversaw an AI program that denied 90% of claims. He was a sick bastard. I’m not saying he deserved to be murdered tho

Read about it yesterday, smiling man with a ruck sack looked like he had a grudge rather than a hit man. Denying claims for spurious or made up reasons is happening over here too.

Looks like he was being investigated for some insider trading deals too, so it's possible someone didn't want him giving up information. The shooter looked like someone who kinda knew what they were doing, not an angry civilian who had their claim denied and decided to hunt the guy down with their pistol.
