New to this forum. I have a 2023 530i xDrive. I’m starting to look for an extended warranty before I hit my 50K miles limit later this year.
Any advice you have on the best approach is much appreciated

I never thought extended warranties are worth the money. Sure, there have been people who greatly benefited from this. Most of the time however, it costs more than you get out of it.

And then there is the possibility that they won’t cover something for some reason or another.

Extended warranties are a big money maker for the dealer overall.

I used to agree but with all the new high end technology in my 5 Series I am afraid of huge repair bills. A friend recently had to replace the Infotainment system 6 months out of warranty and it cost $7500. I was intending to sell / trade my 2023 on a new Leased 2026 but I don’t want to pay the new 25% Tariff. Not even sure if BMW will continue to import the 5 Series from Germany.

Google Troy FD-Warranty. He doesn’t list BMW on his site. H or at least didn’t last time I checked) but he sells Fidelity warranties as a discount. Like most warranties, better to buy before the factory warranty expires. Pricing is based on mileage on car. I have purchased 3 warranties from him and the one for my wife’s Audi Q5 paid enough in claims to almost pay for all 3.

I just got an extended warranty from BMW of Camarillo. They were a lot cheaper than my dealer. Let me look for the post with email

While I don't recommend buying one, I did shop around for Vehicle Service Contracts a couple of years ago and these offered the lowest prices and continue to do so.

Factory warranty doesn’t normally expire until after the lease ends unless you have some extraordinary long-term / high mileage lease. So not sure why it would even be a consideration unless planning to buy the car at the end of the lease.

Gary, if you email them (vipfinance@bmwofcamarillo.com) and dont hear back after 24hours just shoot me a message with your email address and I can follow up for you and at worst usually get you a reply by the end of the day.

just make sure you list all the info in the email (vin number, current miles, what all you are looking for)
