Key fob and comfort handles repair

Just some fyi content..
Im a newbie,, own a 2013 X5 50i and a 2015 640i GC. Both recent additions to my driveway.
I discovered some unknown (to me anyway) diagnosis and repairs.
I was having key fob issues, with both key fobs, new batteries. Sometimes working to lock/unlock and sometimes not. Was also having issues with the key being recognized to start the car sometimes.
At the same time, was having issues with courtesy door handles. Drivers not working at all and passenger rear unlocking repeatedly when key near by.
Also getting battery drain message in mornings at first start up.
Replaced all four door handles (since I purchased in set of 4), and all these issues seem to be resolved.
My biggest discovery was the comfort handles apparently having something to do with the key fob operation. Everything operating as it should so far 🤞🏼

Comfort access is great until it starts playing up as the car get older, whatever is in the door handles goes feet up. Some on here have disconnected the one handle (to lock that door manually) that was playing up and it was fine with that handle then being replaced. How they know which handle it is that's going wrong is anyone's guess.

Key fobs, a solution to a problem that never existed. Despise them.

The driver door handle was completely out. Would not respond at all to comfort access entry.
Passenger rear was an educated guess lol. The car would unlock anytime I was close to the rear passenger side of the car, so I guessed that door was the culprit 🤷🏽‍♂️

I totally agree lol. At the same time, we have become spoiled with these ‘little things’ 😂
