Hasn't that become the American way? I'm a victim of my own poor choices, so I'll ask others to bail me out. |

Should be a gofundme for the psychotherapy he'll need - only a wack job (er - emotionally disturbed individual) would think $5k will cut it with a BMW.

When I was a teen, my first car was a 1.6S mk.2 ford capri.... I learned the hard way
I bought it with a loan cost me £800 about £2,300 about $3,030 US today I was about 18 at the time with a job, Dad said he would put me on his insurance. I bought the car with NO LOG BOOK (in other words no pink slip) said I could just order one from the post office, said I could ring the cops to see if it was stolen, so I did, they just said "we can't tell you if it is, only if we stop you!" So I exchanged money went home, DAD went ballistic, said I had to find my own insurance, so instead of it being cheap and going on dad's name I had to find 1st time insurance for a sports car for a 18 yo kid. I could only afford 3pf&t, that still cost me around £400 I seem to think ($1500 USD) I got stopped once (actually several times) and no problems. As time went by I found out the car was a ringer (VIN taken from a car and put onto a stolen car) This had to have been done when the car was new, (around 10 years previously) The tell tale signs, the ignition lock, was secured with security screws, they had been snapped off and ordinary bolts put in place... where the chassis number was stamped into the front wing in the engine bay, someone had stamped it out and put another one right next to it. For an S car it has a few things missing, OH it had also been in a front end smash. I thought these where all innocent mistakes <SMH> TILL one night as I was going to do a DJ gig at a pirate radio station (yes illegal) I got stopped by some cops, who saw me driving up and down the road. I couldnt tell them why I was going up and down a road. So instead of a producer (request for documents) they asked me about the car, showed them my license and asked me to pop my bonnet. Saw the inconstancies and then like 2 other cop cars, one a sergeant came up, they then told me that AT SOME STAGE the car had been stolen, pointing out the stamped out chassis number, saying that was wrong. Said they were reporting me, but said TBH, it was probably done over 15 years ago (by then) and said the insurance would have paid out and said that chances are nothing would happen, but somone would contact me. I sold the car on after about 6 months, I never heard anything. We do do stupid stuff sometimes, Dad would not bail me out and ANY work I had done on any of my cars it was down to me, he would help me if he could but giving me money pffft |
