GT Silver or Vanadium Grey Porsche Cayman GTS

If you were in the market for a Porsche Cayman GTS. Looking just at exterior paint, which of these two colors would you spec. GT Silver as most know is a classic that’s been around a long time. Vanadium Grey is a one year only (2025) color available before the Cayman ICE models go extinct.

Vanadium Grey, of course! Why asking? You could make this kind of a thread a poll, by the way.

Not sure how to make it a poll. I can’t find it on the app.

Always loved GT Silver, but that Vanadium Grey is nicer and more unique (as unique as greys go).

GT Silver is very classic Porsche but if you’ve ever seen Vanadium Grey in person, it is probably their best looking paint. Not just from a color perspective just how it looks, like an extra layer or two of clear coat. I’m not exactly sure what they do to make it look different from the other paints Porsche applies. It just looks extra glossy, it’s truly a beautiful paint.

apptest, you've got a customer issue here.

And as others provide their reasoning (though not requested explicitly), I'd skip silver because it's dull, cheap and, just as mentioned, old . Buy an old silver car if you choose. Silver is also a betrayal colour, they say (if I am not mistaken).

Silver is traditional for the German race cars, but that grey is nice.

This is a tough call, maybe the grey just to be somewhat different but for the love of god man, go get an actual colour. This whole Porsche thing in grey/silver/white/another grey/another grey/black etc ..... it's a sports car, I feellike it deserves a colour.

Was this up on RL or the cayman subreddit recently?

GT Silver isn't bad as far as silvers go but it's still silver.

I'd go gray. Not because it's a 1-yr option but because I like grays over silvers, the latter being too chameleon-like based on lighting. Silver is more prone to picking up other hues and looking yellowish or bluish, if not washed out, based on conditions.

None of the above. Get a color that stands out like Shark Blue or something else that you like. Silver and Grey color Porsche`s look boring after a while.

Stick with classic Porsche. Lots of variations over the years, examples below. I don't like gray cars though.

Silver Metallic
Guards Red
Speed Yellow
Cobalt Blue
Miami Blue
BRG
Lava Orange

Get their trademark red or yellow. Hopefully Porsche doesn't charge you an arm & a leg like they're renowned for doing with their options.

I like the BMW metallic dark grey a lot better than what I see in that picture, but I also feel that belongs on a BMW and not a porsche.

Neither. Not a fan of metallic paint, especially on Porsches.

I don't know if its just me but looking at the pictures on my phone both colors look bland and no pop.

When you see both in person get the one that makes you smile more.
