Just get a Porsche

And when the time comes hop into a P1 etc.

The Macan is already going to grab the enthusiasts of the X line

BMW wants to become the new Toyota and Toyota the new BMW of course through the Lexus side

At this time BMW is still the best all around car when doing all of the comparative analysis with sport and utility...

If Porsche can get their costs down while maintaining the sport side then hopefully BMW will be forced to revisit its economic shift back to the sport side

Or hopefully M can be its own company and offer more

I think that BMW doesnt have a real competitor against the new 911 , the new JAG coupe, the new SL , "small" Ferraris etc.
Its a very profitable segment and the BMW's board focuses at selling products on masses.

BMW please give to your people a light vehicle and put on S65 engine.

2 seater please ! weight 1350 kg ! PLEASE !
For Chist sake, get over it.

The S65 is not coming back. Ever.

I actually agree with you on the Toyota. It isn't the prettiest either, however I say interesting only because of how similar the FT-86 is to the BRZ. If BMW/Toyota are doing what Subaru/Toyota did, then the FT-1 is a more accurate render[ing] than the one pictured above.
I see. The FT-86 and the BRZ are too similar. I think BMW want's to make sure their version of the collaboration wont be confused with Toyota's version.

BMW has no SL competitor, no Mercedes SLS/GT and Audi R8 competitor, and they damn sure will probably never have a small Ferrari competitor. And especially since the 458 is on it's way out (When they do the Speciale model, it's the final horray for the vehicle) and supposedly Porsche is developing a 960, which means anything that BMW comes up with has to be in the 600 hp range....
No, BMW puts it's stock in developing minivans like the 2 Series Active Tourer.

I really like the Toyota FT-1...We all wonder what BMw is holding.
+1

The lack of 911 & R8 competitor is a gaping hole in the BMW lineup. BMW should go whole hog and make it, and ensure it handles like a GT3 with power of a Turbo S

Actually still surprised how affordable the Macan S is. If Porsche can just come out with rumored small 4-door, they will start to kill it. Also the possible rebirth of the front engine 928. Porsche could really start to eat into BMW segments even more than ever. Which is good, since BMW is getting a little soft.

Why are they making this so damn complicated?... Just build a z5 or whatever they call it and make it compete with an Audi R8. Done. There's your super car.

a Porsche pajun instead a 5 series(boat), and maybe a mini pajun for 3 series(boat)?? hell yes!!!

as long as Porsche can keep the premium over bmw (similar equipped)within a 5K range, i'm sure we'll see more than a handful of people choosing the Porsche, even if it's not for sportiness but for the badge.

I believe under a new Porsche developed RWD architecture which can be AWD as well, Porsche said that the next Panamera will probably spin off a coupe---which possibly would go up against the Ferrari F12.

It's been said that one of the reasons why BMW has gone soft, was of course the chasing of different niches, but that the Chinese want "softer" handling cars, and prefer to be driven instead of driving the cars. How true is that?

No more words can be said.

You might want to spend some of you attention on a particular thread this week and you will see how BMW have not only cracked open the sports car segment with their first car in decades but have re-wrote the rules and extended their lead in a vision of how a sports car can survive in a legislative future.

The Toyota aligned cars come later.
For the i8 the moment is now....

I think the BMW render looks great.

I have a deal for Toyota; you help us with this new car, and you can HAVE the '2 series active-minivan'. Seems fair to me.
